ĭuring the Hong Kong Incident in 2025, Gipsy Danger used its right plasma cannon against Leatherback when the Category IV Kaiju attempted to push the Jaeger back into the ocean.
Against all odds, Raleigh was able to activate the right plasma cannon for a second time and kill Knifehead for good when he overloaded the weapon into the Kaiju's face at point-blank range. Gipsy Danger's left plasma cannon was lost when the Kaiju severed its left arm from its body and tore open the Jaeger's Conn-Pod, killing Yancy in process. Moments later, Knifehead recovered and blindsided the Jaeger. After three shots to the abdomen, Knifehead was presumed dead by Gipsy Danger's pilots, Raleigh and Yancy Becket. While fighting the Category III Kaiju Knifehead in the Gulf of Alaska in 2020, Gipsy Danger used its right plasma cannon in its first attempt to kill the creature. The weapon's plasma reservoirs were also fully restored and it was able to fire off several shots in rapid succession before being forced to recharge. After Mako Mori upgraded and restored Gipsy Danger, the Plasmacaster's charge delay was shortened considerably. Prior to its update, the Plasmacaster had to be charged by a swing of the pilot's arm and took a considerable amount of time to power up. Gipsy Danger had two Plasmacasters, one located on each arm.
The beam also cauterized any wounds inflicted upon Kaiju during combat, preventing the spread of Kaiju Blue. The beam would cause massive and deadly wounds to the targeted Kaiju's anatomy. Pacific Rim: Jaeger Pilot is a virtual reality simulation created by Oculus VR, and developed by creative studio Reel FX, that puts users in the pilot seat of a “Jaeger” robot from the Pacific Rim film in order to fight a “Kaiju” using the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.
